I have used several iPod stereos and they all suffer from the same fault - they sound like a 1970's transistor radio. This was my expectation for the Cyber Acoustics Digital Docking Speaker, however it surpassed my expectations. Other models like Livespeakr Ultraportable Speaker System for iPod/iPhone (Black) is very portable, but it does not have the sound quality to support the price. I have also used the MEMOREX 1779 Travel Speaker System for iPod with Alarm Clock (White) which is superior to the Livespeakr, but still falls short in terms of sound. You will see both of these models in the video portion of this review. Pros to the Cyber Acoustics Digital Docking Speaker - - Sound is better than expected for a small unit - the highs are relatively crisp and the unit does offer some bass response (which was shocking) - Will charge your iPod Touch, iPhone, iPod Nano, and Video iPod - With the use of the auxiliary input you can play from any device that has a headphone output (including iPod Shuffles) - While not overly loud this system will fill a decent sized room - including a dorm room. Areas for Improvement - Wish it had a basic remote- it would add cost but it would be worth it. - I wish it was rechargeable - although this would add significantly to the cost. You can always add rechargeable batteries. - Will fit awkwardly into a backpack or suit case - it is shaped like a trapezoid.
